Working Group 3: Frequency Coordination and New Issues

Frequency coordination, regulatory and spectrum policy issues are initially managed by the Frequency Coordination Working Group along with development of NSMA recommendations (see the Recommendations tab).

NSMA welcomes new spectrum issues for technical discussion, development of industry consensus and resolution. Results of these negotiations are recorded as NSMA Recommendations and thereafter provide industry guidance.

When topics require a more intense focus, the NSMA Board activates additional issue-specific working groups.

Working Group 3 Recommendation Groups:

  • Committee on Broadcast Auxiliary Service/Fixed Service Spectrum Sharing (7 and 13 GHz band)
  • Adaptive Modulation
  • Coordinate Accuracy
  • Automatic Transmit Power Control
  • Non-line-of-sight Frequency Coordination

In addition, the group addresses about 20 spectrum allocation, interference, coordination, licensing and administration areas and tracks another two dozen specific items within those areas.
